This week we caught up with Vicki Wilson. Born and raised in Ballarat, Vicki joined the team back in 2008 and is part of the Financial Services team. Vicki talks about her role with PPT, life away from work and her training for an upcoming Grampians walking event.
Tell us about your role at PPT?
Back in 2008, I started in the Accounting and Superannuation departments after completing my Certificate IV in Accounting & Financial Services. In 2010 I found my home in the Financial Services team assisting the Financial Advisers in an administration role, I am now a Personal Assistant to Cameron Moore and Kevin Perrin.
What do you most enjoy about working in the Financial Services team?
Definitely the diversity that every day brings, no 2 days are the same! I really enjoy the contact with clients and being able to help them, also working with the advisers to achieve clients goals. Our team has a combined total of just under 200 years’ experience (10 Staff) with PPT Financial which I think is a testament to the company and the directors.
What are the key challenges in your industry at the moment?
There’s always new processes and regulations to learn, which leads to plenty of paperwork. However, compliance is an integral part of the financial services industry.
You have a big walk planned for June, tell us about that …
In June, I’m taking part in the Serra Terror Walk in the Grampians. The event is held over two days and includes 80km of hiking (and scrambling) over some challenging terrain. I’ve been training for a few months now and looking forward to what will be a gruelling challenge. I suspect I might have a few blisters at the end of the walk!
What football team do you follow?
I am not sure I should divulge that … Carlton (LOL). The last few years haven’t been the best for the club or its supporters.
What Netflix show are you watching right now?
I’m really into The Fall at the moment. It’s a crime drama series set in Northern Island. Gillian Anderson, from X-Files fame, is one of the lead characters. I’m also looking forward to the next series of Outlander.
