About The Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and support a small accounting team.
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Complete BAS, IAS, FBT, and payroll tax obligations.
- Work with clients across a wide range of industries including medical, trades, agriculture, hospitality, retail, and more.
- Build strong client relationships and provide high‑quality advisory services.

About You
You will be a motivated accounting professional with:
- 5+ years’ experience in public practice.
- Degree qualifications; progressing toward CPA/CA highly regarded.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation laws.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑service skills.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs and/or QuickBooks (advantageous but not essential).

About the role:
The role offers exposure for a skill SMSF accountant to manage the firm’s growing book of around 300 self-managed superannuation funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- self-managed superannuation fund management work for a broad range of clients
- review and check work completed by other staff members
- mentoring and training other team members
- understanding the role of a superannuation accountant which includes maintaining strong superannuation fund compliance, communicating with clients within the guidelines of AFS licensing regime, Partners & Staff and to understand the limits placed on the role by law
- be proactive and driven in helping the business grow and expand
The ideal candidate will have:
- at least 3 years prior experience in accounting with a strong academic track record
- experience with BGL is preferred
- exceptional communication skills
- strong understanding of Australian Tax Law and accounting concepts
- strong understanding of fundamental business concepts
- strong ability to analyze and interpret financial information
- a high focus on providing excellent client service
- excellent time management and attention to detail
- ability to work under pressure
- a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
- a strong work ethic and initiative
- commitment to further training and professional development
What we’d love from you:
- a least 3 years experience in an accounting practice
- degree qualified and working toward, or preparing to work toward, obtaining CPA status
- previous exposure to accounting, tax and superannuation software
- strong skills in using MYOB, Xero, BGL, and Quickbooks will be highly advantageous
