Fine wine, food and song took centre stage last month at Craig’s Hotel as Royal South Street Society held a charity fundraiser to celebrate its 125th anniversary and raise funds for an inaugural All Abilities Eisteddfod which will allow performers with a disability to compete as part of South Street’s annual program.

Commencing in 2017, the All Abilities sections will include dance, vocal, instrumental, speech and drama.

The black tie event ‘with a touch of gold’ was hosted by Ballarat Councillor, Sam McIntosh and featured the dulcet tones of 2015 Herald Sun Aria Winner, Fiona Jopson and local nine piece band, The Sweet Biscuits, who helped guests dance the night away with plenty of jazz and pizazz.

The night was a terrific success and around $5,000 was raised through ticket sales and auction items generously donated by Regent Cinemas, Stems Flower Market, RACV, Craig’s Hotel, and Radio 3BA.

Several of our Directors and their partners attended on behalf of PPT, who are the naming rights sponsor for the RSSS’s 125th Year celebrations.
