rsss-logo

jason-ron-rsssTo mark the 125th anniversary of Australia’s longest running Eisteddfod and Royal South Street Society’s (RSSS) ‘inaugural grand competition’ which was held in Ballarat in 1891, a year long calendar of events has been developed to celebrate the extraordinary role Royal South Street has played in shaping our cultural advancement as a nation and providing a unique environment for young people to flourish in the performing arts.

The official launch will take place in March and kick off with the Baird & McGregor Great Debate featuring known celebrities and local talent, performances from the Ballarat National Theatre and the go live of RSSS 125 Stories Project and website. You can also find RSSS at this year’s Begonia Festival and during Heritage week where they will be hosting a second Great Debate to commemorate RSSS’s early beginnings as a debating society and share the many quirky, social, political and economic topics of the day, many of which are still relevant today.

The Launch will take place at Ballarat Town Hall on Thursday 10th of March at 6pm. Please note limited public tickets will be available.
