Team Q&A: Aimee O’Brien
This month we caught up with Accountant Aimee O’Brien, who joined PPT in late 2020. Originally from Snake Valley, Aimee moved into Ballarat in her high school years.
What do you enjoy about your role with PPT?
I enjoy the client contact and being able to watch our clients develop and grow. We also have a fantastic and very helpful team.
What roles/organisations did you work in prior to joining PPT?
I came across to PPT from another accounting firm in Ballarat. Prior to that, I worked in hospitality at the local casserole shop – Country Casseroles.
Are you involved in any local community groups or sports clubs?
Although I have had a two-year hiatus, I am a very passionate supporter of the Carngham Linton Football Netball Club. I have spent all of my junior and senior netball days at Carngham and spent a few years on the committee out there.
What keeps you busy outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to spend time catching up with friends and family – especially my little nephew. I also like to keep an eye on the local Footy and Netball.
If money was no object, what would be your dream travel destination?
At the moment, my dream travel destination is South America with Chile, Brazil and Peru being the main attractions – I would love to get over there for a tour. I do enjoy my travel so I am always finding new places that I want to visit.
If you could invite any five people to dinner, who would they be?
Adele, Ricky Gervais, Tommy Shelby, Julia Gillard and Mark Manson.
What TV series/podcasts/books are you into right now?
Season 3 of ‘The Sinner’ on Netflix is the TV series that has me hooked at the minute. I am currently reading ‘Let Go’ by Hugh van Cuylenburg which I am thoroughly enjoying, and on the Podcast front, I have just discovered a podcast produced locally called ‘The Innerview Podcast’ which has been really interesting and insightful. I highly recommend all three!
