Team Q&A: Polly Parrott

This month we caught up with tax and accounting specialist Polly Parrott. Born in Ballarat, Polly joined PPT in 2014 after finishing high school and now helps client with tax returns, BAS and financial statements.

When did you join PPT?

I started at PPT in 2014, straight out of high school. I was a shy teenager then, and I spent my first couple of years driving to and from work, getting my L’s hours up.

What is your role with PPT?

I work in tax and accounting, looking after our clients’ tax returns, BAS’, financial statements and anything else I can help them with. I also work with various accounting software packages and help clients resolve issues that they may have with them.

What do you enjoy about your role with PPT?

I love my job at PPT so much that I have never looked for another full-time position. The best part of my day is working with my amazing colleagues and I find it interesting to work on the tax affairs of clients from all walks of life.

What roles/organisations did you work in before joining PPT?

Before joining PPT, I worked part-time at a florist after school. This job taught me to appreciate heating and air conditioning in the office and sparked my love of flowers.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

My husband and I recently bought a house and have lots of plans for gardening and home improvements. We just completed building a kit shed after laying a slab. I also enjoy baking and sewing, and I plan to make a tiny dress for my cute little niece.

Where are you going for your next holiday?

I haven’t decided yet, but I have taken a few long weekends away recently. I went to Coober Pedy and Hawker in South Australia on one trip and Mansfield for hiking in the high country more recently.

What streaming TV shows or podcasts are you into at the moment?

I love listening to sewing podcasts like Seamwork Radio on my way to work. Currently, I’m listening to a British podcast by Elle and Hazel. My husband and I have also been watching Prison Break together, which is a bit of a change of pace from my normal workday.
